Bunyu Island

Bunyu is one of small island that contains a lot of natural resources, such us coal, petroleum and gas.  Bunyu is one of the subdistricts in the Regency of bulungan and included in the province of North Kalimantan. The location of Bunyu Island is near Tarakan City. You can get this island by speedboat from Tarakan, just one hour.

Bunyu island contains a lot of natural resorces. Like coal, petroleum and gas. There are a lot of the coal is underground, petroleum and gas is in the underground too and offshore. With so many natural resources, many companies that have been working in this island until now. The companies are PT Adani Global, PT Lamindo Inter Multikon, PT Garda Tujuh Buana as the companies that manage the coal and PT Pertamina EP as the company that manage the petroleum and gas. But the biggest companies in this island are PT Pertamina EP and PT Adani Global.

Actually, the view and the situation in this island is fresh and beautiful. But, the situation up there has contaminated by coal, petroleum and gas activities. So, the weather is hot and many roads have been damaged.  The local people of this island are very friendly.  The local people usually know and care to others.

In this island, there are some beach to visit.  There are Nibung Beach, Sei Kura Beach, and Serdang Beach. The local people usually spend their spare time or the holiday in one of the beach. In the beach, They usually have fun and enjoy the day with their family, they usually swimming and  fishing too. Not only that, The local people also walking around on the harbour. In the evening, many people walking around in the harbour for fun and refreshing. Sometimes, the people also spend their Saturday night in this harbour, especially the teenagers. They are sitting, chatting, and have dinner with the light of moon and the stars
